Interview With Speak Up Talk Radio

I did my first interview with Speak Up Talk Radio host Pat Rullo.

In the early hours of the morning, I did my first interview with Speak Up Talk Radio host Pat Rullo. All in the name of trying different things to promote my first book Shattering Dreams. It is one of those things that all Indie Authors learn and I’m told the Traditionally published. It’s not enough to ‘just’ write the book. You have to promote it as well. There is only so much I can do within my own network. Eventually, you tap that out, somehow you have to get wider exposure.

So when Speak Up Talk Radio reached out and asked if I’d like to do an interview, well at first I was hesitant. After all, I’ve never done one before. The 0100hr time slot didn’t look all that appealing either. Then I decided, on the spur of the moment that it was worth a shot. When I looked into it I saw there were a number of different packages available. Essentially it’s a podcast that also gets sent out to syndicated radio in the US as well. I get a copy of the interview and it stays available through iTunes and various other platforms for 12 months.

So who knows how or if this will help push Shattering Dreams further? I certainly don’t yet I’m glad I did it even if it is just for the experience of doing my first real interview. I certainly don’t know what the future holds but I think it was certainly worth a shot. Pat Rullo was also really easy to talk with. I really didn’t know what I was going to be able to talk about for 30 mins. Yet time flew by and it was over before I knew it.

I’ll do another post about some of the other marketing strategies I’m trying at a later date. They are proving to be a little hit and miss. Still, I don’t mind trying them once, that doesn’t mean that I will use them again for book two Path Of The Broken if they didn’t work. Marketing is proving to be a frustrating, yet necessary game.
